Sakara Named President of High Alert International

In a time of economic down turn and disaster, leave it to a disaster preparedness, response and recovery firm to execute a bold expansion and merger plan at the cusp of the nation’s economic revival. As part of this plan, High Alert International announced the promotion of Allison Sakara, to President.

Allison Sakara has been more than fortunate. As a member of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) since 2001, Ms. Sakara has served the nation as a Supervisory Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner and Deputy Logistics Officer. She was recognized in 2005 as an NDMS Response Distinguished Member of the Year by her team. Following Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Sakara worked with the NDMS medical response efforts for the better part of 6 months. In 2008, she served with the first NDMS team to provide medical services on Galveston Island following Hurricane Ike.
“Allison Sakara is one person our nation has consistently turned to when it needs a plan for response and recovery transformed into tangible response and recovery,” observes Dr. Maurice A. A president named “Allison” is not, however, the typical choice. Emergency management and Homeland Security consulting has been a male-dominated field since the first retired generals and fire chiefs doffed their uniforms and donned their Brooks Brothers suits in the early years of the profession. Business continuity and disaster preparedness likewise have been predominately male endeavors, owing to the profession from which they originated.
“In a disaster, no one cares if you are a man or a woman - all they care about is that you are there to help,” notes Allison Sakara, as she prepares for the company’s Monday morning planning meeting. While Allison is focused on business, her colleagues are excited by her rise to the top of the industry.
